In this tutorial I’ll show you how to create Sketch \/ Painting Effect in Photoshop. This is a very Simple and Effective trick. I hope you will enjoy this.

Step : 1<\/h2>\n

Open the image in Photoshop. For example I\u2019m using this image. Here you can download from Here<\/a>

Step : 2<\/h2>\n

Duplicate Background Image (CTRL+J) and (Image > Adjust > Desaturate or Shift + CTRL + U) and rename it Black and White<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step:3<\/h2>\n

Duplicate the layer named Black and White, and go to (Image > Adjustments > Invert or CTRL+I) and rename it Black and White & Inverted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Your image should look like this;

Step: 4<\/h2>\n

Black and White & Inverted Layer<\/strong> and change the mode of the duplicate layer to \u201cColor Dodge\u201d<\/strong>.

Apply (Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur<\/strong>) to the Black and White & Inverted Layer<\/strong>. You will see a grey line drawing start to appear. When you increase the blur strength that controls the line strength. Don\u2019t you think it\u2019s cool?

Now your image should look like this;

Step: 6<\/h2>\n

Merge the 2 top layers titled black and white<\/strong> and black and white & Inverted <\/strong>(CTRL + E will merge the layer you have selected plus the one below)

Step 7. <\/h2>\n

Change the Blend mode<\/strong> of this new top layer to Overlay<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your Image will look like this;

Step :8<\/h2>\n

Now we will apply some effect. Go to (Filter > Artistic > Fresco)<\/strong>
\nBrush Size = 1<\/strong>
\nBrush Detail = 10<\/strong>
\nTexture = 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step:9<\/h2>\n

Go to (Filter > Artistic > Film Grain)<\/strong>
\nGrain= 4<\/strong>
\nHighlight Area = 8<\/strong>
\nIntensity = 1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your Image

Step :10<\/h2>\n

Create a new Layer and fill the color c0c0c0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Step:11<\/h2>\n

Select This

Go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise<\/strong>

Step: 13<\/h2>\n

Go to Filter > Blur > Motion Blur<\/strong><\/p>\n

Change the Blend mode<\/strong> of this new top layer to Multiply<\/strong> change Opacity to 50%.<\/strong><\/p>\n
